Turning Japanese
Happy Easter my darlings,
Today is a very special outfit because I got into a point that I realize that my outfits are always very planned and full of inspirations.
This outfit starts with a chat with a friend from Brazil, he came to me and said that I was becoming even more japanese. Which is funny because I grow up in Foz do Iguaçu the famous city known for the Iguassu Falls and the Itaipu (biggest) Hydroeletric Dam (well it was until China decided to build a bigger one) and is also known as the Triple Frontier : Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.
Well, now I’m going to explain why it’s funny! Paraguay is known for the low export taxes and also fake products. Most of my family and some of my friends at school used to say that I was a “Japanese from Paraguay”, meaning that I was a fake japanese. In this case they were not that wrong because I was not born in Japan and I’m only half japanese (my father has a japanese descendants and my mother an italian)! But now living in Japan I’m becoming more japanese, this time for real!
So after that I start thinking why I didn’t buy a kimono yet ?! I’m in the country of kimonos. So I went for my search in a thrifted store and I took only 10 minutes to find this kimono. It was perfect! The light green (mint), flower patterns (trend) in soft (pastel) colors and it was in a short version!
To match I choose white : pants, belt, bracelet and to add some color I made this clutch. I had a considerable piece of leather but it was very irregular, I couldn’t do a symmetric clutch so I did a bit of moulage to transform into a clutch. I really like the result! And to finish wavy hair a la Del Rey with twisted side from Valentino runaway show and the make up was inspired on Louis Vuitton beauty.
Well, now about my day. It was a beautiful sunny day and we decided to explore more the Yamanakako lake. We discovered this beautiful and cute coffee house. Actually most of the store and restaurants (around the lake) are seasonal, open only from march to november. That’s why we never noticed before! And after that we stopped at the lake and OMG I just can’t get enough of this view.
Hope you enjoyed this look and the view. See you next week with more!
So stay tunned!
Love, Ellen.
